Potholes and plight of Nelson’s highways
Nelson Town Council has passed a motion to request an urgent meeting with the cabinet member for highways at Lancashire County Council. The Town Council will arrange a visit of Nelson’s roads to highlight the dangerous and poor condition of many of the main roads in Nelson.
“Millions of pounds has been underspent by Lancashire County Council and the state of our highways is now at breaking point. Road users risk damage to their vehicles and injury to themselves travelling on our roads and it is unacceptable. It is time now for us all to hold the County Council to account and demand that action is taken.”- Councillor Zafar Ali, Chairman, Nelson Town Council
