“This is a proud moment for me and my family. I have been given the opportunity to lead the council of a town I dearly love and I am truly excited for the next 12 months. I am a proud resident of Nelson and with the help of my Councillor colleagues my aim is to improve all the facilities under Town Council control and keep on the expansion drive which my predecessor began. I must thank Councillor Sajid Ali who has done a terrific job as the former chairman and I am happy that he will support me as my deputy.”
