Nelson Town Council is seeking the services of a Maintenance Person to act as a contractor to the Council on a self employed basis. The hours worked will vary depending on the time of year. It is envisaged that this variation will be from 20 hours plus during summer months, with minimal work in the winter months. An hourly rate of £9.50 will be paid.
Much of the work in the summer will be spent watering and maintaining the hanging baskets and planters at various sites around the town centre. These will require constant maintenance and upkeep
The successful contractor will provide his or her own transport, telephone, tools, equipment and insurance and have a good knowledge of gardening/maintenance. They will be required to carry out basic maintenance work and small scale improvements in Nelson. Ideally, he or she will live locally.
The contract will be for an initial period of 1 year.
